Spilling the Beans

I moved the host to my own VPS, it was mostly painless, but some characters were wrongly formatted.
Since the formatting errors are at a minimum I wont do anything about it right now, future posts will have proper typing.

I have heard several requests for some sort of followup on CCDC. So here it is (though slightly delayed).
In my humble opinion it was quite a success, some cool apps were developed during the weekend, and the winning team “Courier” was a smash hit.
Most of the CCDC tech-talks have been caught on tape, and can be viewed (for free) at vimeo.
Thanks to King Productions for taking care of the video production.
I heard rumors that Simon recorded the app presentations on his iPhone 4, I couldn’t track the videos down on the web, but he will probably post about it soon.
We came out with approx. 4000 kr. in profit, the cash has been donated to VIaid.
Thanks to all of CCDC’s sponsors listed below (alphabetically).
Aron Allen, Cocoa Stuff, Eventbird, Huge Lawn Software, KiKa Consult, MicroWorld-NetCom, Robocat, Shape.

Next time is 25 may 2011.
There is another Cafe Retro right next to Rasmus Abrahamsen appartment at nørrebro. It should have some better tables and be more suitable for NSCoder Night. Rasmus have made a deal with Cafe Retro that we can have some kind of table reserved for us every wednesday at 1900.

It has not yet been determined wether this will be permanent or temporary. It depends on what people thinks about the place.

Aron Allen have hosted NSCoder Night since forever. He has done a great job of hosting the weekly get together at Cafe Retro where iOS/Cocoa developers meet to talk about programming problems.
I will be hosting the events and try to keep you posted via this website. I will announce changes to the regular NSCoder Night schedule on my twitter account @neoneye.
The plan is still to meet:
Every Wednesday.
From 19:00 to 23:00.
Location: Café Retro, Knabrostræde.
See you soon at NSCoder Night!

CCDC just finished, and I had a great time with everyone who was there. I have done some reflections leading up to the weekend, and I have decided I no longer want to maintain a strongly active role in Copenhagen’s iOS community.
We started back in 2008, and we have had a lot of meet-ups and events through the years, it has been great to see the iOS community flourish in Copenhagen and the rest of Denmark. It is deeply satisfying to know with great certainty, that I have played a major role in connecting so many bright minds. Quite ironically I have made few iOS projects in the three years I have conducted the community, a thing I might have more time for after my resignation.
I am resigning, which means that I will no longer be present at every NSCoder Night, and I will not organize another CCDC. I trust the community will bring forth a new organizer, and I am quite certain you will do great with him or her.
There are two reasons for my resignation. First, my hobby has become my profession many people wish it was so in their career, but being here I personally feel I need a new hobby, I do not know what my new hobby is yet, but I will figure it out. Secondly I am an initiator, I have drawn on a Cocoa stained canvas for three years, and now I need a new fresh slate, a blank canvas where I can draw new lines.
I am not resigning with any hard or negative feelings towards anyone in the community, I have simply come to the conclusion that I need to move on, my mind is set on the future with great memories from my time as the main character of Copenhagen Cocoa.
If you are interested in becoming the next Mr. Cocoa, give me a call, it only involves attendance of our weekly NSCoder Night meetings, and updating the blog once in a while.
